Les quelque 50 millimètres de pluie prévus jusqu’à demain ont aggravé la situation des inondations dans la municipalité de Saint-André-Avellin.

Quelque 27 résidences principales sont actuellement inondées, dont cinq ont dû être évacuées. Au total, 70 maisons sont menacées par le débordement de la rivière Petite-Nation qui traverse le centre-village avellinois. PLUS >>>

Quebec town under water as river continues to rise

A small town northeast of Gatineau is almost completely under water after rising waters from the Petite Nation River surrounded the area.

Officials say a total of 40 homes in St-André-Avellin, located between Ottawa and Montreal, are already flooded and 20 of those homes have been evacuated. Thirty other homes are also at risk.

Streets are already four feet under water and there is no word as to when the riverside community will see some relief. MORE >>>
